Enter: Wesley.
Sometimes people come into your life when you least expect them. My husband and I met and Andy and Andrea almost six years ago at her Dad's bar playing volleyball. The volleyball game that changed our life.
We never thought that such friendship could be formed from bar league vball. We certainly never thought that we would cross state lines or fly internationally to continue said friendship. Since then, we've vacationed together south of the boarder, we've been in each other's weddings, and attended a few sporting events and REO Speedwagon concerts. These friends that we weren't looking for, are now the family we always should have been apart of. And that family just got a little bigger. Hello, baby Wesley.
What an excellent new adventure. Self titled, Auntie Sara and Uncle Matt can't wait for first steps, ball games, and obviously, all the bumps and bruises that come with the fullness of a good life. Andy and Andrea, we are so glad to be apart of your life and we are so excited to see how the future holds for your little family. Welcome Wesley, its a beautiful world and you are going to love it!

Katelyn & Justin a Country Wedding

Everyone loves an October wedding. The air is crisp and fresh, the trees are on full display, a much needed break from the heat and humidity of Wisconsin summers. The problem being that when that humidity breaks it means rain, and on Katelyn and Justin's wedding, a healthy amount of rain fell.

So what do you do? Well, if you are Katelyn and Justin you all pull on your beautiful cowboy boots, grab some umbrellas, put up a few more tents, get hold of a vintage truck or two, maybe grab an extra towel to dry off your ring bearer dog who refuses to come out of the downpour, and carry on. Rain on your wedding day is a sign of good luck, and how comforting to see all of your nearest and dearest pulling together to help make your day just perfect?

Katelyn and Justin's day was just beautiful, the rain stopped at all the right moments, the country pond back drop was just where you wanted to be on a lovely autumn day. Friends and family huddled together to watch them say their vows and to keep Katelyn's puppy off her dress train. It was country, it was beautiful, and it was genuine. Congratulations Katelyn and Justin on not just a beautiful wedding but a lovely life!

A fun little backstory to this engagement. Katelyn and I both caught the bouquet at her sister Trisha's wedding last June. I have the picture to prove it, and the fun doesn't stop there. Come October we'll both share the same annivers… — A fun little backstory to this engagement. Katelyn and I both caught the bouquet at her sister Trisha's wedding last June. I have the picture to prove it, and the fun doesn't stop there. Come October we'll both share the same anniversary, October 14th! I guess some wedding traditions still have a little magic left in them.
Katelyn and Justin have been together for some time now, about eight years. They grew up in the same friend circles, both showing cattle at Fair. They share a passion for the outdoors. I rarely get a photo request from the groom-to-be but Justin wanted sunset with the cows, and nature kindly obliged.
On a stunning April night, Katelyn and Justin escorted me into the cow pasture, fresh with newborns and heavily expectant mothers. Being near to feeding time the cows came trotting right over to me checking out the camera and prodding my bag for treats. I would be lying if I said I didn't panic. Katelyn shouted over, "I forgot this isn't normal for you" as we all looked at my leopard print flats. Before I knew it Justin was calling his favorite four legged ladies over for "a good pet" and pointing out which ones he thought would birth in the night.
Harper Lee said, "write what you know", which to me always meant, do what you are passionate about. Katelyn and Justin were brought up in the country and they are *passionate* about it, they *know* it, its apart of them. I find it beyond awesome that two of the started raising cattle on their own. What a gift to know what you love and have someone to share that passion with.
I can't wait for October to hike back to the farm and watch these two tie the knot. I promise to bring boots next time. Congrats Katelyn and Justin!

Melissa & Dan Lapham Peak Wedding

Marriage can mean learning to compromise. Melissa and Dan make compromising fun. Melissa wants to wear pearls, Dan gets the Harley out. Dan wants to go for a walk in the woods, Melissa grabs her cute boots. It's all about meeting each other in the middle. So when it came to wedding planning, Lapham Peak, was an easy choice. They are there all the time anyways, Dan even helped to plant one of the groves when he was a boy scout!

Melissa brought some old hollywood style glam to the great outdoors and flowers were all inspired from the local flora of Lapham Peak State Park. They added their closest friends and family to stand witness to their marriage and celebrate with them into the night. Cheers to wildflowers, a bit of rain, and long walks in the woods with the one you love!

Trisha & Sam Bennet Barn Wedding

It is hard not to get personal about this wedding. I have known the bride since we were small. Being a year older than me I always looked up to her. My dad would say, "Yes, Trisha has a horse. Yes, Trisha can drive a tractor. She is more coordinated… — It is hard not to get personal about this wedding. I have known the bride since we were small. Being a year older than me I always looked up to her. My dad would say, "Yes, Trisha has a horse. Yes, Trisha can drive a tractor. She is more coordinated than you". The truth hurts.
Put Trisha and Sam together and you get a couple people seem to flock to. Wether they are floating on the river or bundle up at Lambeau Field, you want to be where they are. They are funny, they are caring, they are warm, and the same was true for their wedding day.
On a hot day in June these two tied the knot in the local church. They drove down to the river and favorite watering hole followed by classic cars. They celebrated well into the night with friends, family, cocktails, cupcakes, and kitties.. Simply, perfection.
